Our mission

Helping pets thrive in grooming situations and to inspire a positive industry-wide change, one groom at a time.

At Bubbly & our other half Hey Good Cat, we stand for kindness towards animals through an empathetic, humane & evidence-based approach while focusing on proper grooming care education and communication-focused collaboration with pet guardians.

We also stand for a conscious lifestyle and retail only natural, cruelty-free, earth-friendlier pet products and advocate for adopting animals instead of buying.

Who are we looking for?

We’re on a mission to raise the bar for pet grooming in Singapore — and we’re looking for thoughtful, committed individuals to walk this path with us.

"Do what’s right, not what’s easy."
If that resonates with you — and you're not afraid of hard work — we’d love to hear from you.

We welcome individuals who lead with empathy, curiosity, and care — and who understand that working with animals and people requires a non-judgemental, open-hearted approach.

Humane Grooming Specialist (Part-time)

As a Humane Grooming Specialist, your primary role involves caring for each animal’s grooming needs while curating a grooming experience that supports their emotional well-being through an empathetic, evidence-based approach. The goal: to help pets build resilience and confidence towards grooming procedures in a humane, sustainable way.

Many of the animals who come through our doors carry emotional baggage from past experiences — grooming can be deeply triggering for them. You bring not only the empathy, patience, and resilience to support even the most sensitive pets, but also the people skills to collaborate with and guide their guardians through the journey.

Just as importantly, you have the initiative and desire to keep growing — deepening your understanding of animal welfare, behaviour, and the ever-evolving best practices that put the animals' well-being first.

A day at work

  • Conducting thorough, thoughtful pre-groom assessments and post-groom reviews with pet guardians

  • Assessing, identifying, and minimising triggers within the studio environment and grooming procedures

  • Working independently and/or as part of a team to perform humane, low-stress grooming procedures

  • Providing grooming care for pets with complex needs, sensitivities, or behavioural challenges — using empathy, emotional regulation, and resilience

  • Ensuring the emotional and physical safety of all animals in the studio

  • Addressing questions and concerns from pet guardians with clarity and compassion

  • Documenting observations to support continuity of care and team learning

  • Contributing to studio duties — preparing the space for each pet and guardian, maintaining cleanliness, and completing closing duties

  • Supporting retail duties — learning about products, offering thoughtful recommendations based on each pet’s needs, and handling payments

  • Working with dogs at Bubbly and cats at Hey Good Cat on different days, as per the schedule

  • Learning from day-to-day experiences and applying feedback to grow in your role

  • Growing alongside the team through guided mentorship, skill-sharing, and hands-on learning

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Possesses a strong sense of empathy, responsibility, and integrity

  • Is detail-oriented, open-minded, and guided by good judgment

  • Believes in kindness and non-aversive treatment of animals

  • Values sustainable processes over quick fixes

  • Has the patience, resilience, and compassion to support animals through stress in a sustainable way

  • Is committed to growing — with a proactive approach to both self and professional development, especially in the evolving fields of animal welfare and behaviour

  • Is willing to contribute to a nurturing, uplifting, and safe work culture

  • Is comfortable interacting with both dogs and cats — and with people too

  • Is open to adhering to a cruelty-free, plant-based lifestyle within the studio

In addition, applicants should be:

  • At least 18 years old and a Singaporean or PR

  • Proficient in written English and fluent in spoken English, with the ability to communicate clearly, empathetically, and without judgment — with both pet guardians and teammates

  • Able to commit 3–4 days/week, including weekends

  • Available for a minimum of 12 months — we’re looking for those who want to grow with us

  • No grooming experience needed (background in animal welfare, behaviour or grooming is a bonus)

Takeaways/Remunerations:

  • Confidence in grooming pets with diverse physical and emotional needs, guided by empathy and intention

  • Mentorship and training in a humane, evidence-based grooming approach

  • Deeper understanding of safety, trust, and relationship-building with animals — and people too

  • Probation starting at $10/hr with performance-based reviews and increments

  • Staff discounts

  • Annual and sick leave entitlements (part-time)
