It started with Chocolate

Our own pup, overwhelmed by grooming that rushed past his needs.

He changed the way we saw grooming—forever.

When we welcomed Chocolate, a mixed Shih Tzu, into our lives in 2009, we just wanted to give him the best care we could. Grooming felt like a good place to start—but the search for a gentle, trustworthy space quickly turned into worry. Chocolate grew anxious, and we started to question what really happens behind closed doors.

What we discovered was troubling.

We knew the grooming industry could do better.

Grooming refined

So in 2014, we created something different—a calmer, fully-transparent space built on kindness and respect. A space Chocolate would feel safe in.

Since then, we’ve walked alongside fellow guardians facing similar struggles. We’ve seen fearful pups begin to soften, settle, and trust. And that change keeps us going.

We’re always learning and evolving—drawing from the latest in animal welfare research and humane, force-free practices. Our goal is to keep refining how we work, so every dog feels supported—emotionally and physically. Because grooming is part of care—and care should feel kind.

Honouring each dog’s needs beyond appearance, and helping shape a more compassionate grooming culture, will always be our way of paying tribute to Chocolate—the pup who changed everything.

Thank you for coming on this journey with us,
